The "rascards" historical witness of the rural architecture of our mountains
The great technicalexperience of INART professionals and their strong connection with theterritory were indispensable in recovering an unique place: a house in AyasValley, with rich history and culture, where architecture becomes a narrativeelement in perfect fusion with the surrounding environment.
The "rascards” are typicalconstructions of Ayas Valley. These are examples of the "Walser architecture”of our mountains, proud witnesses of the rural life of the past. Intended tostore grains, they were made using architectural tricks designed to avoid theformation of humidity and the attack of rodents. For this reason, the "rascards”are supported by the characteristic "mushrooms”; a series of wooden pillarssurmounted by a stone disk, while the walls are made of pine trunks, fir andlarch, squared or simply debarked, slotted into slots at the ends.
The "rascards” are protectedby the Superintendence as a historical testimony of rural architecture.
